SM Investments Corporation has been honored for its leadership in Transparency and Reporting at the 2024 Philippines Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) Awards, presented by the United Nations (UN). The awards ceremony, held on November 27, 2024, spotlighted organizations championing gender equality and fostering sustainable change.

The Transparency and Reporting category celebrates entities that prioritize open communication about their gender equality initiatives. By monitoring progress and sharing data, these organizations enable stakeholders to evaluate their efforts and hold them accountable. SM Investments was commended for presenting “evidence-based progress” and maintaining “robust, honest reporting,” essential elements for advancing inclusivity.

Lizanne Uychaco, Chief Risk Officer, Compliance Officer, and Group Diversity Officer at SM Investments, expressed gratitude for the recognition. “This award underscores our dedication to transparency and accountability. It is a shared achievement with our stakeholders, who motivate us to promote inclusivity and equality in everything we do,” she said.

In addition to honoring trailblazers, the event featured a commitment-signing ceremony for new and existing WEPs participants, reaffirming their pledge to gender equality. SM Investments became the Philippines’ largest homegrown WEPs signatory in 2021.

The UN Women Philippines WEPs Awards aim to highlight companies and individuals that drive gender equality in the workplace, marketplace, and communities. This recognition positions SM Investments as a key advocate for meaningful and sustainable change, further strengthening its role as a model for equality in business practices.
