PBA Legend Arwind Santos Hosts Basketball Clinic for Ilocos Norte Youth

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte (PGIN), led by Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, is teaming up with PBA legend Arwind Santos to inspire young athletes through a basketball clinic on November 16 at the Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena in Laoag City.

Arwind Santos, a nine-time PBA champion and former San Miguel Beermen star, will personally mentor 40 amateur players from various athletic associations, providing them with expert training on basketball fundamentals, skill-building techniques, and confidence enhancement.

In addition to coaching, Santos will promote his collaboration with a local shoe brand, available for purchase during the event, blending sports and entrepreneurial advocacy.

This initiative aligns with PGIN’s vision of making Ilocos Norte the Sports Hub of Northern Luzon by fostering talent development and empowering youth through meaningful sports programs. The Ilocos Norte Sports Development Office sees this clinic as a crucial step in nurturing the athletic potential of Ilocano youth and inspiring the next generation of athletes.

Beyond the basketball court, Arwind Santos will also be a special guest at the Himala sa Buhangin! Arts and Music Festival, held at the Paoay Sand Dunes later that day, further engaging with the community.

PGIN continues to elevate its sports development programs by collaborating with notable sports figures, creating opportunities for young athletes while showcasing Ilocos Norte as a hub for sports and cultural events.
