Kingsford Elevates Muslim-Friendly Hospitality With Five-Star Recognition

Kingsford Hotel Manila is strengthening its position as a welcoming destination for Muslim travelers after earning a 5-Star Crescent Rating, an upgrade from its 4-Star recognition last year.

The achievement marks a significant step in the hotel’s efforts to provide services and facilities that respond to the faith-based needs of Muslim guests. CrescentRating is internationally recognized for evaluating Muslim-friendly and Halal travel services worldwide.

The distinction also represents a first for Megaworld Global Hotels & Resorts (MGHR), as Kingsford Hotel Manila becomes the group’s first property to receive a 5-Star Crescent Rating.

For General Manager Jorold Montelibano, the recognition reflects the hotel’s broader commitment to making Muslim travelers feel comfortable and respected throughout their stay.

“Achieving a 5-Star Crescent Rating is an important milestone for Kingsford Hotel Manila, but more importantly, it reflects our commitment to making Muslim guests feel comfortable, respected, and genuinely welcomed,” Montelibano said.

He added that the hotel wants guests to enjoy Filipino hospitality while having convenient access to dining, facilities, and services that allow them to practice their faith.

Certified by the Philippine Department of Tourism as a Muslim-Friendly Accommodation Establishment, Kingsford has incorporated Muslim-friendly practices into its daily operations.

Among its major initiatives is the transition to a fully Halal kitchen, supported by culinary and service teams trained in appropriate Halal food preparation and handling. This allows Muslim guests to enjoy the hotel’s dining experience with greater confidence and convenience.

The property also provides a dedicated prayer room. Qibla direction and copies of the Qur’an are available, while guests may request an in-room prayer setup for added privacy and convenience.

These services come as the hotel experiences growing demand from the Muslim travel market. Kingsford reported a 102 percent year-on-year increase in Muslim guest arrivals, indicating greater interest in accommodations that understand religious and cultural requirements.

The hotel expects its enhanced services to appeal to Muslim travelers visiting Metro Manila for business, leisure, family vacations, government-related activities, and group events.

Beyond certifications and facilities, Kingsford says its approach remains rooted in Filipino hospitality—welcoming guests with care, respect, and a sense of belonging.

With its new 5-Star Crescent Rating, Kingsford Hotel Manila continues to position itself as an accessible Manila base where Muslim travelers can enjoy modern hospitality while observing their faith comfortably throughout their stay.
