CDO Foodsphere Celebrates Golden Milestone with Three Quill Awards

CDO Foodsphere Inc. was highly recognized and won multiple awards in their respective categories. Representatives from CDO’s 50th Anniversary organizing team and the CDO Funtastyk brand team celebrated with President and CEO Jerome Ong (third from left) who emphasized how the hard work and dedication of CDO employees come into fruition in moments like these.

CDO Foodsphere has added another achievement to its five-decade legacy after receiving three prestigious distinctions at the Philippine Quill Awards, recognizing its successful anniversary campaigns, stakeholder engagement initiatives, and brand communication efforts.

The homegrown food company secured two Excellence Awards and one Merit Award, highlighting its commitment to meaningful storytelling, corporate communication, and strengthening relationships with Filipino consumers.

The Philippine Quill Awards honor organizations that demonstrate outstanding performance in strategic business communication and innovative engagement programs.

For CDO Foodsphere, the recognition carries special significance as the company celebrates 50 years of bringing trusted food products to Filipino households.

“For 50 years, CDO has had the privilege of being part of the lives and tables of Filipino families. But reaching this milestone also reminded us that our story has never been ours alone. It was built with our employees, our partners, our communities, and the consumers who have trusted our brands through the years,” said Jerome Ong, President and CEO of CDO Foodsphere.

The team that organized CDO’s 50th Anniversary Celebration “One Story. Three Experiences. Fifty Years of CDO Foodsphere” won an Excellence Award – Special and Experiential Events, under the Communication Skills Division. One of the company’s major achievements was the Excellence Award for its campaign, One Story. Three Experiences. Fifty Years of CDO Foodsphere, under the Special and Experiential Events category of the Communication Skills Division.

Instead of organizing a traditional anniversary celebration, CDO designed three memorable experiences that brought together the people who contributed to its growth.

The company welcomed media representatives to its manufacturing facility in Malvar, Batangas, providing an opportunity to witness its production operations and learn about the people behind its products.

Two major anniversary celebrations at the SMX Convention Center also gathered approximately 2,200 customers, suppliers, banking partners, government representatives, and influencers.

Meanwhile, more than 4,000 employees nationwide joined the company’s internal golden anniversary celebration, which featured the inaugural Golden Spoon Awards honoring outstanding and long-serving personnel.

CDO’s anniversary media relations initiative earned another Excellence Award under the Communication Management Division, recognizing its efforts to share the company’s history, operations, and values with a broader audience.

“We believe one of the best ways to understand CDO is to experience the business firsthand. We wanted our guests to meet the people behind the brands, see how our products are made, and understand the values that have guided us for five decades,” said Patricia Magbanua, CDO Head of Corporate Affairs and Communications.

Completing the company’s triple recognition was a Merit Award for CDO Funtastyk Young Pork Tocino’s Battle of the Best: The Real #1 campaign under Marketing, Advertising and Brand Communication.

The campaign highlighted the brand’s position as the country’s number-one tocino brand while reinforcing its connection with Filipino consumers.

Beyond the trophies, the awards underscore CDO Foodsphere’s continuing efforts to combine business growth with employee appreciation, customer loyalty, and corporate storytelling.

As the company moves beyond its golden anniversary, these recognitions reflect a legacy shaped not only by its food products but also by the relationships and shared experiences that have supported its journey for 50 years.
