The annual Carols on Ice event returned to SM Skating Mall of Asia, dazzling audiences with breathtaking ice skating performances while raising funds to support the growth of ice sports in the Philippines.
Organized by the Philippine Skating Union (PHSU) in partnership with SM Skating, this year’s theme, “Rhythm of the Icons,” brought iconic music to life on ice, blending artistry and athleticism.
A Legacy of Ice Skating Excellence
SM Skating’s journey began in 1992 with the first ice rink at SM Megamall, igniting a passion for ice sports in the country. Today, Olympic-sized rinks at SM Mall of Asia and SM Seaside City Cebu serve as hubs for aspiring figure skaters and ice hockey players. These facilities have fostered national talents who now shine on international stages.
A Night to Remember
The event featured performances by world-class skaters, including two-time Winter Olympian Michael Martinez, 2024 National Champions Maxine Bautista and Paolo Borromeo, and 2022-2023 National Champion Sofia Frank. They glided to timeless hits from The Beatles, Queen, Michael Jackson, and more. GMA Sparkle artist and national athlete Skye Chua added star power to the lineup.
Inspiring the Next Generation
As the grand finale of the Philippine National Figure Skating Championships, Carols on Ice not only showcased elite talent but also inspired young skaters to pursue their dreams. It was a memorable celebration of music, art, and sportsmanship.
