SM Job Fair Empowers Displaced IT and Digital Workers

SM Supermalls and the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) partner to help displaced information technology (IT) workers find new opportunities at the Job Fair in SM Mall of Asia.

In a bid to support job generation and assist displaced workers in the IT and digital sectors, SM Supermalls, in collaboration with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), hosted the Project DAPAT (DOLE Action Plan and Transition) Job Fair.

A successful hired-on-the-spot applicant beams with excitement after securing a new employment opportunity at the Job Fair in SM Mall of Asia.

Held over two days at the SM Mall of Asia Music Hall, the event brought together 70 employers from industries such as IT-BPO, retail, hospitality, manpower, and overseas employment. A total of 865 job seekers attended, with 136 applicants hired on the spot during the fair.

“At SM, we believe that every person employed directly impacts the lives of five others—the average size of a Filipino household. This drives us to continuously expand our initiatives and celebrate every hire,” shared Royston Cabunag, Assistant Vice President for MSMEs, Job Fairs, and Government Services at SM Supermalls.

Since the start of 2024, SM has hosted over 170 job fairs across its malls nationwide, connecting over 100,000 job seekers with employers. These efforts have resulted in nearly 14,000 individuals being hired on the spot, underscoring SM’s commitment to fostering employment opportunities for Filipinos.
