TECNO Turns Smartphone Launch Into Living Fashion Story

Technology met fashion and personal storytelling as TECNO introduced the CAMON SLIM 5G in the Philippines through “MAKE IT LIGHTER: The Living Cover Runway,” transforming a traditional smartphone launch into a celebration of modern Filipino women.

Instead of putting technical specifications at the center of the evening, TECNO created an experience inspired by a fashion magazine brought to life. Fifteen women from different professions, backgrounds and stages of life walked the runway—not simply as models, but as “living covers” representing their individual journeys.

The women included celebrities, creators, entrepreneurs, working mothers, professionals, women in technology and community advocates. Among the personalities featured were Aubrey Miles, Carlyn Ocampo, Fuschia Anne Ravena, Max Collins and Megan Young.

Each participant entered the runway as her name and identity appeared on a large LED screen. While carrying the CAMON SLIM 5G, her story was introduced to guests, highlighting how she balances responsibilities, ambitions and personal passions.

Advertising professional and solo working mother Ely Halig represented women who continue pursuing their own identities while raising a family. A breadwinner and competitive padel player, Halig’s story reflected how motherhood and personal ambition can exist together.

Twinkle Dimayuga offered another perspective. Drawing from her experience as a solo mother, she helped establish MAMA — Mothers Advocating through Ministry and Action—showing how community can help make difficult responsibilities feel lighter.

Miss World 2013 Megan Young led the finale, bringing together the evening’s themes of confidence, growth and reinvention.

Fashion also played an important role in presenting the CAMON SLIM 5G. Burgundy Red, one of the smartphone’s signature colors, became the visual language of the runway. The 15 outfits incorporated modern Filipiniana influences, with structured silhouettes, flowing fabrics, pleats and translucent details reflecting the personalities and stories of the women wearing them.

Beyond the runway, TECNO designed the venue like a living magazine. Guests moved through portrait displays, product experience areas and fashion-inspired spaces before arriving at the main presentation.

At the center was the CAMON SLIM 5G, TECNO’s ultra-slim imaging smartphone featuring a 6.39mm body, 6,000mAh battery, 50MP Sony LYTIA 700C main camera, Super-Zoom FlashSnap and TECNO Universal Tone imaging technology.

The launch also provided a preview of TECNO’s collaboration with artist and photographer Angélica Dass. The Philippine project will explore the lives of working women, particularly solo mothers, through the Filipino concept of diskarte—resourcefulness, adaptability and finding practical ways forward. More details are expected later in October.

Through The Living Cover Runway, TECNO positioned technology as part of everyday lifestyle rather than simply another device. The “Make It Lighter” message reflected the reality that women often carry multiple responsibilities while continuing to pursue personal goals.

The CAMON SLIM 5G comes in Burgundy Red, Matisse Black and Rebel Pink during pre-order, with 3D White arriving next month. The 8GB+256GB model is priced at ₱27,999 through online and offline channels, while the 8GB+128GB version is priced at ₱24,999 and available exclusively through TikTok Shop.
