Sogo Cares Strengthens Community Health Support Through Hospital Donation

Sogo Cares once again demonstrated its commitment to uplifting public health institutions through a meaningful donation to Justice Abad Santos General Hospital—one of Manila’s key medical facilities serving thousands of families from underserved communities. Guided by its advocacy to “Bridge Gaps to Build Better Communities,” the initiative aimed to improve both patient comfort and staff working conditions in an environment where resources are often stretched thin.

Representatives from Sogo Cares, including Board Director Mr. Edmundo Las, Advertising and Promotions Manager Ms. Mariel Quinto, and Hotel Sogo Avenida Branch Manager Ms. Kithley Esperanzate, personally turned over three air-conditioning units and brand-new linens to the hospital. These items may seem simple, but in a public hospital where waiting areas and wards easily become congested, the addition of cooling units and fresh linens significantly enhances the quality of care. Patients can now recuperate in a cooler, cleaner, and more comfortable setting, while frontline medical staff gain much-needed relief during long shifts.

The donation aligns strongly with Sogo Cares’ mission to address gaps in essential community services—especially in healthcare facilities that often lack adequate equipment. By providing practical support, the program amplifies the impact of hardworking medical teams and ensures that vulnerable patients experience dignity and comfort during moments of need.

“Sa bawat proyektong may puso, nandyan ang Sogo Cares,” the team emphasized, echoing their belief that real change begins with small acts of compassion consistently delivered to communities.

This initiative is part of Hotel Sogo’s broader Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) framework, which includes health, education, and community-focused projects nationwide. Whether through medical missions, school assistance, or direct donations, Sogo Cares continues to channel its resources toward institutions that serve as lifelines for Filipino families.

With more than 50 Hotel Sogo branches throughout the Philippines, the program remains rooted in its mission to give back to the communities it serves.
