SM Foundation Opens Applications for 2025 College Scholarship Program

The SM Foundation, the social development arm of the SM Group, has officially opened applications for its 2025 College Scholarship Program. Running from February 1 to March 31, 2025, the program aims to support deserving yet financially challenged senior high school graduates across the Philippines.

Continuing the mission of SM Group Founder Henry Sy, Sr. in education, the SM College Scholarship Program has produced more than 4,000 graduates since its inception in 1993, focusing on key academic disciplines, including Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Accounting, and Education.

For the academic year 2025-2026, the scholarship is open to public school graduates and private school students who are DepEd voucher beneficiaries, provided they completed Grade 10 in a public school. Successful applicants will receive full tuition coverage, a monthly stipend, and paid internship opportunities within the SM Group during semester breaks, helping them gain practical work experience while completing their education.

The foundation opens part-time job opportunities to its scholars during vacation and breaks, as well as career opportunities within the SM Group after graduation

Since its inception in 1993, the SM College Scholarship Program has helped over 4,000 scholars graduate from their chosen degree programs. The initiative primarily supports students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Accounting, and Education—fields that align with the needs of various industries and contribute to nation-building.

The foundation’s college scholarship enables the holistic development of its scholars, incorporating personal development, enrichment activities, and academic support to its program.

Beyond financial assistance, the scholarship offers personal development workshops, career enrichment programs, and team-building activities to enhance scholars’ academic performance and workplace readiness. These initiatives help prepare students for future employment and leadership roles.

The SM Foundation provides avenues where scholars and alumni can connect and establish a strong network of support.

This long-running educational program is rooted in the vision of SM Group founder Henry Sy Sr., who believed that education is key to breaking the cycle of poverty and empowering communities. Through the scholarship, the SM Foundation continues to uphold his legacy by providing Filipino youth with the opportunity to pursue higher education and build a better future.
