As the annual Holy Week exodus begins, millions of Filipinos once again take to the roads, heading to provinces and pilgrimage destinations across the country. Amid the surge of travelers, a quiet but crucial transformation is taking place within the nation’s transport hubs—one that puts safety and preparedness at the forefront. Through a meaningful collaboration between Bell-Kenz Pharma and the Department of Transportation (DOTr), transport frontliners are now better equipped to respond to life-threatening emergencies.
On March 23, 2026, Bell-Kenz Pharma formally turned over three Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) to key transport institutions—two units to the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) and one to the Special Action and Intelligence Committee for Transportation (DOTr-SAICT). These devices, designed to restore normal heart rhythm during cardiac arrest, are now strategically placed in high-traffic areas where every second can mean the difference between life and death.
This milestone builds on the success of the “Sagip CPR” training program conducted on February 24, 2026, which gathered more than 800 transport personnel—from drivers and conductors to terminal staff, security teams, and members of the Philippine Coast Guard. Participants were trained in Hands-Only CPR, proper AED usage, and emergency response protocols, transforming everyday frontliners into capable first responders.
The ceremonial turnover highlighted the shared commitment of both public and private sectors to passenger safety. Representatives from the Philippine Coast Guard and Bell-Kenz Pharma underscored the importance of preparedness, especially during peak travel periods when the volume of commuters significantly increases. The initiative also reinforces ongoing efforts to integrate health awareness and emergency readiness into the daily operations of transport systems.
More than just a one-time effort, the program reflects a broader vision of proactive healthcare—where knowledge and tools go hand in hand. By equipping frontliners with both skills and life-saving devices, Bell-Kenz Pharma strengthens its role as a reliable partner in nation-building, ensuring that safety is not left to chance.
As buses depart and terminals fill with travelers this Holy Week, a stronger safety net is now in place—quietly standing by, ready to save lives when it matters most.
