Prudence Foundation, the community investment arm of Prudential plc, has introduced Levela in the Philippines, a free digital learning platform designed to equip young Filipinos with practical financial knowledge and help them make informed money decisions in an increasingly complex financial environment.

As rising living expenses, expanding financial responsibilities, and digital transactions become part of everyday life, the platform aims to make financial education more accessible for the country’s youth. Available through both web and mobile platforms, Levela offers interactive lessons covering budgeting, saving, debt management, insurance, financial planning, and fraud prevention.

The Philippines becomes the first country to launch the platform, reflecting Prudence Foundation’s commitment to expanding financial literacy and inclusion in communities where access to practical financial education remains a growing need.

Sanjay Chakrabarty, President and CEO of Pru Life UK, said the initiative supports the company’s broader goal of helping Filipinos make informed financial choices.

“At Pru Life UK, we are proud to support the launch of Levela in the Philippines, advancing our shared commitment to make financial literacy and inclusion more accessible to the communities we serve,” Chakrabarty said. “Through local partnerships and community engagement, we bring financial education closer and more relevant to everyday life, equipping more Filipinos with practical knowledge to make confident financial decisions.”

To make the platform more inclusive, Pru Life UK also collaborated with Prudence Foundation to adapt a Shariah-compliant financial education module into English, making it more accessible for Filipino Muslim communities while supporting broader financial inclusion efforts.

Levela primarily targets Generation Z, including university students preparing for adulthood and young professionals beginning to manage their own finances. The platform is also being developed with an offline version that will extend learning opportunities to underserved communities, including informal workers and low-income households with limited internet access.

The new initiative builds on Prudence Foundation’s long-running Cha-Ching financial literacy programme, which has introduced money management concepts to millions of children across Asia and Africa over the past decade. Insights from the Center for Financial Inclusion at Accion also helped shape Levela’s educational content to ensure it addresses the financial realities faced by today’s young adults.

Nicole Ngeow, Executive Director of Prudence Foundation, said the organization remains focused on building resilient communities by providing practical financial tools that create lasting impact.

“Levela builds on our financial literacy efforts by providing a new generation of young adults with practical tools they can use in their daily lives,” Ngeow said. “We are delighted to roll out the app in the Philippines first, expanding access to financial education where it is needed most.”

Following its Philippine launch, Levela is scheduled to expand to Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Ghana, and Zambia later this year, further supporting Prudence Foundation’s mission of making financial education more practical, accessible, and relevant across emerging markets.
