Fix a bedtime and wake up time.
Power naps should not exceed 45 minutes of daytime sleep.
Avoid excessive drinking 4 hours before bedtime.
Avoid caffeine 6 hours before bedtime i.e. coffee, tea and many sodas, as well as chocolate. However, A light snack before bed is acceptable.
Best to block out noise and eliminate as much light as possible.
Exercise regularly, but not right before bed.
Reserve the bed for sleep and relaxation.
Use comfortable bedding.
