mWell, the digital health arm of Metro Pacific Investments Corporation (MPIC), has unveiled a breakthrough in Philippine healthcare: the mWell Health ID, the country’s first fully digital health identity.
Available through the mWell app, the Health ID functions as a secure, portable health passport. It stores vital records such as lab results, prescriptions, vaccination history, and emergency contacts—ready to be shared with doctors and hospitals anytime, anywhere, without paperwork.

“Our vision is simple: healthcare that moves with you,” said Manuel V. Pangilinan, Chairman of MPIC and mWell. “The Health ID is a step toward universal healthcare, giving every Filipino confidence and peace of mind as they manage their well-being.”
The launch not only simplifies patient registration at clinics and hospitals but also helps reduce redundant testing and ensures doctors make informed decisions with complete, up-to-date data. For patients, it means faster care and smoother coordination across facilities.
“Interoperability has always been a challenge in our health system,” noted Dr. Raymond Sarmiento, COO of mWell. “By placing health data directly in the hands of Filipinos, we’re empowering patients while strengthening the connection between communities and providers.”

Aligned with the Universal Health Care Act, the Health ID builds on mWell’s nationwide initiatives—such as OnTheGo Clinic-In-A-Bag for remote areas, drone medicine delivery to islands, and BangkaHealth services for communities in Sulu. With these innovations, mWell cements its role as the country’s leading digital health platform, ensuring no Filipino is left behind in the journey to better health.
