LUZVIMINDA – Challenging the definition of traditional fashion

The traditional design of a Filipina’s clothing has been challenged and redefined by the Designers Circle Philippines (DCP) when they launched LuzViMinda Tapestry that Binds our Independence at  The Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay.

LUZVIMINDA exhibits a curated selection of haute couture birthed through the mixture of cultural styles and modern innovative trends in fashion. Each gown is made with materials and fabrics weaved from various regions of the Philippines. Some of these obras have been donned by no less than Filipina beauty queens and celebrities, namely Norman Acuba’s pieces for 2018 Miss Earth Philippines candidate Kissabelle Aragona, 2019 Binibining Pilipinas Miss Intercontinental Emma Mary Tiglao, and 2019 Jewel of the World Candidate Leovy Jane Pagaduan.

During the launch, visitors were treated to a visual bite of what the group has up their beaded sleeves when DCP showcased nine of its frocks on the runway.

DCP shared that the exhibit is a way of continuing its mission of promoting Filipino culture through fashion creativity. It also aims to preserve the pristine and the authenticity of the making Filipinianas in the modern-day.

The LUZVIMINDA collection will be strutted down the runway during its culminating fashion show on August 9.  The entire ensemble will be on display in the lobby of the hotel until August 13.
