Honda Philippines Ushers in New Era with Global Leader at the Helm

Honda Philippines, Inc. (HPI) has officially welcomed Mr. Takeshi Kobayashi as its new President, effective April 2025, signaling a bold step toward strengthening its global vision and deepening its local impact. With over 25 years of experience in various leadership roles within Honda’s global operations, Mr. Kobayashi brings a strategic mindset shaped by decades of success across Japan, Europe, and most recently, India.

Starting his career at Honda Motor Co., Ltd. in 1999, Mr. Kobayashi has held key positions in human resources, domestic sales, and overseas operations. He played a pivotal role at Honda Motor Europe Ltd. and later led global motorcycle sales strategy at the company’s headquarters. His most recent achievement was as Director of Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India, which achieved the highest sales volume among Honda’s global entities during his tenure.

Now at the helm of Honda Philippines, Mr. Kobayashi aims to lead the company toward reaching over one million combined motorcycle (ICE and EV) sales and production units. His strategy focuses on expanding the product lineup with innovations tailored to Filipino riders, supported by engaging launch campaigns, top-tier customer service, and a strong push in the Power Products segment.

“I am honored to serve the Filipino riding community—one of the most passionate in the world,” said Mr. Kobayashi. “Our goal is to deliver world-class mobility solutions that empower daily lives and spark new dreams, while enhancing the customer experience across all touchpoints.”

With Honda’s global brand slogan, The Power of Dreams – How We Move You, Mr. Kobayashi envisions an era of meaningful connection with customers, innovation-driven mobility, and community-focused progress. Under his leadership, HPI is poised to continue its mission of uplifting lives, creating opportunities, and redefining movement in the Philippines.

Honda Philippines also reaffirmed its commitment to strong collaboration with government partners, suppliers, and dealers—key players in sustaining the brand’s growth and national footprint. As Mr. Kobayashi takes the reins, Honda Philippines looks ahead to a future fueled by innovation, inclusivity, and a relentless drive to move the Filipino people forward.
