In a night filled with pride, gratitude, and the spirit of public service, SM Prime Holdings Inc. and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) came together at SMX Aura to honor the remarkable men and women who protect Filipino communities from fire and danger. The 2025 Awards Night of the Search for the Ten Outstanding Firefighters (TOFF) of the Philippines celebrated stories of courage that often unfold quietly, long before the sirens wail or the headlines appear.

This year’s honorees were chosen from more than 38,000 firefighters nationwide—each one carrying a unique story of resilience and dedication. Now in its second year, the TOFF program continues to shine a spotlight on individuals who go beyond the call of duty, evaluating not only their professional performance but also their civic engagement, innovation, and leadership within their communities.

SM Prime President Jeffrey C. Lim reminded the audience that firefighting reaches far deeper than emergency response. “Behind every rescue is discipline, heart, and countless hours of unseen sacrifice,” he said. BFP Chief Jesus Piedad Fernandez echoed this message, emphasizing that the recognition uplifts the entire bureau. “Your support strengthens our commitment to protect the public and keep our communities safe at all times,” he added.

Twenty finalists were honored—each representing a lifetime of service and a deep sense of mission. From this esteemed group, 10 were named the 2025 Ten Outstanding Firefighters of the Philippines: five commissioned officers and five non-commissioned officers. Their achievements ranged from leading large-scale rescue operations to innovating fire prevention programs in far-flung towns.

The remaining finalists, equally inspiring, were also recognized for their impact and dedication. All 20 honorees shared the stage with their families, who were flown to Manila and treated to a memorable celebration courtesy of SM Prime.

The evening closed with a symbolic message: that true heroism is not defined by moments of danger alone, but by years of unwavering service. Through this recognition, SM Prime and the BFP hope to inspire more Filipinos to honor, support, and stand with the firefighters who safeguard lives every day.
