Two Philippine social enterprises supported by Globe—Virtualahan and The Spark Project—have been recognized in the Singtel Group Future Makers (SGFM) 2025 Impact Report, a landmark publication celebrating a decade of empowering tech-driven social innovation across Asia.
The report highlights how startups under the SGFM network have harnessed technology to address pressing community challenges while building sustainable ventures. Among them is Virtualahan, the country’s pioneering social enterprise for persons with disabilities, and The Spark Project, an entrepreneur-support platform that began as a crowdfunding site for creative ventures. Both have become standout alumni of the Globe Future Makers (GFM) program, the Philippine adaptation of SGFM.
Since its launch in 2015, SGFM has supported 85 startups across 11 countries, benefitting more than 24 million people through initiatives spanning education, healthcare, inclusion, environment, and livelihoods. Globe localized this platform in 2017 through GFM, providing Filipino social innovators with mentorship, marketing, and network access to scale their impact.
For Virtualahan, this support became a game-changer. Founded by Ryan Gersava, the enterprise has trained over 1,200 persons with disabilities and other marginalized groups, recording a 66% employment rate and a 25% average income increase for graduates. It has also incubated two spin-off ventures and grown revenues by nearly 300%. Gersava credits SGFM and Globe for boosting Virtualahan’s credibility and visibility in the social enterprise ecosystem.
Meanwhile, The Spark Project, led by Patch Dulay, has evolved into a hub for Filipino social entrepreneurs and creatives. Beyond crowdfunding, it has assisted more than 135 enterprises, channelled ₱25.5 million into impact projects, and launched a ₱16.6 million loan fund. Through Globe collaborations like Spark Fest, it has provided a platform for aspiring changemakers to connect with mentors, partners, and fellow innovators.

As SGFM concludes its current format after ten years, Singtel emphasized its next phase will focus on alumni ventures and cross-border collaboration. Globe, for its part, reaffirmed its commitment to continue enabling Filipino startups that use technology for social good.
By backing initiatives like Virtualahan and The Spark Project, Globe demonstrates how strategic partnerships can transform communities—creating not only stronger enterprises but also more inclusive opportunities for Filipinos.
