What happens when an old hotel blanket reaches the end of its useful life?
For most establishments, it may simply become waste destined for disposal. But for Eurotel Hotel, it became the beginning of a meaningful journey—one that transforms discarded materials into opportunities for children with disabilities and their families.
At Eurotel North EDSA, the hotel officially launched the Eurotel x KPAO Upcycled Tote Bag Project, a sustainability initiative that combines environmental responsibility with social impact. Developed in partnership with the Quezon City Kabahagi Parent Advocates Organization (KPAO), the project demonstrates how businesses can turn everyday resources into tools for positive change.

The concept is simple yet powerful. Retired hotel linen blankets that would otherwise be discarded are carefully repurposed into limited-edition tote bags. Instead of ending up in landfills, these materials are given a second life while helping generate support for a community that often faces unique challenges and limited opportunities.
More importantly, the initiative goes beyond environmental sustainability. Every tote bag purchased directly contributes to programs that benefit children with disabilities and their families, ensuring that the impact extends far beyond the bag itself.

The launch event gathered representatives from government agencies, advocacy groups, corporate partners, and members of the media who came together to support a shared vision of inclusion and community empowerment. The presence of representatives from local government units, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the Department of Transportation (DOTr), and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) highlighted the broad support behind the initiative and the growing recognition of the importance of programs that promote both sustainability and social responsibility.
Adding inspiration to the event was actress and advocate Ara Mina, who shared words of encouragement centered on compassion, resilience, and service. Her message underscored the importance of creating opportunities for vulnerable sectors and reminded attendees that meaningful change often begins with collective action.

Behind the project are dedicated advocates who have long championed the welfare of children with special needs. Leading the effort from KPAO are Josefa “Jho” Peñaflor, KPAO Chairman and Project Director; Sarah Tupaz, KPAO President and Project Patron; and Cecilia Millang, KPAO Vice-President. Together with Eurotel, they have built a partnership founded on dignity, inclusion, and empowerment.
The initiative also received valuable support from partners Gardenia and Bell-Kenz Pharma Inc., whose contributions helped expand the campaign’s reach and strengthen its impact.

For Eurotel, the project reflects a broader commitment to responsible hospitality. Guided by its Smart, Safe, and Green Hospitality framework, the hotel continues to explore ways to reduce waste, support communities, and create lasting value beyond its core business.
Today, the Eurotel x KPAO Upcycled Tote Bags are available in participating Eurotel branches nationwide, including North EDSA, Vivaldi, Pedro Gil, Makati, Las Piñas, Angeles, and Boracay.

More than a reusable accessory, each tote bag represents a story of transformation. It carries the promise of a cleaner environment, stronger communities, and brighter opportunities for children with disabilities.
Through this collaboration, Eurotel and KPAO prove that true hospitality is not measured only by the comfort it provides guests, but also by the positive impact it creates for society. In every stitch, every bag, and every purchase lies a simple message: hope can be carried forward, one step at a time.
