Buenas PH Boosts Grassroots Sports Through Community Investment

As Filipino athletes continue to pursue excellence despite limited resources, private-sector support is becoming increasingly important in helping grassroots sports programs thrive. Recognizing this need, Buenas PH has strengthened its commitment to local sports development through a PHP 3.9 million investment aimed at supporting aspiring athletes and community-based sports initiatives across the country.

The funding was directed toward essential requirements that often determine whether athletes can participate and compete, including training support, uniforms, protective equipment, tournament logistics, and event-related resources. By focusing on these practical needs, Buenas PH seeks to help emerging talents overcome financial barriers and gain opportunities to showcase their abilities in various sporting disciplines.

Among the beneficiaries is the Pyros Dragon Boat Team, a community-driven paddling squad that has steadily improved its competitive standing. The team recently earned multiple podium finishes at the Club Crew Dragon Boat Challenge, demonstrating how consistent support can contribute to stronger performances and greater confidence among athletes.

The initiative also extended to combat sports, where assistance was provided to flyweight contender Eros Baluyot during his participation in the Road to UFC Season 5 quarterfinals in Macau. The support helped cover training and logistical requirements, allowing the former national wrestling team member to focus on competing against international opponents.

Beyond team and combat sports, Buenas PH contributed to the growth of golf communities by supporting several regional tournaments and events. The company also partnered with sports-related activities that encourage wider public participation and engagement, helping create more opportunities for athletes and sports enthusiasts alike.

According to Buenas PH Marketing Head Kim Curayag, many talented athletes possess the dedication and determination to succeed but often struggle with the costs associated with training and competition. By helping address these challenges, the company hopes to enable athletes to focus on performance while proudly representing the Philippines.

Looking ahead, Buenas PH plans to continue supporting grassroots sports programs through additional initiatives and sponsorships, including upcoming boxing events and community competitions. Through these efforts, the company aims to play a meaningful role in nurturing future champions and strengthening the country’s sporting ecosystem from the ground up.
