Bell-Kenz Pharma is expanding its advocacy for inclusive healthcare as it joins the National Working Committee preparing activities for the 2026 Cerebral Palsy Awareness and Protection Week, an annual nationwide observance led by the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA).
Held every September 16 to 22 under Proclamation No. 588, the observance promotes greater understanding of cerebral palsy while encouraging early detection, timely intervention, protection, inclusion, and stronger community support for persons living with the condition.
Bell-Kenz Pharma will be represented by Corporate Branding and Public Affairs Head Patrick Larraga in the committee’s discussions and preparations. The working group brings together representatives from national government agencies, local government units, medical and rehabilitation organizations, disability advocacy groups, civil society, and the private sector.
The company’s participation follows a July 28, 2026 coordination and courtesy call between Bell-Kenz Pharma Public Affairs Manager Anna Leah Poteet Morales and NCDA officials, including Information, Education, and Communication Chief Jayme J. Mariño, Information Officer I Jem Aguilar, and Project Evaluation Assistant Nanie Umali-Apostol.
Beyond supporting Cerebral Palsy Awareness and Protection Week, Bell-Kenz Pharma is exploring another initiative with the NCDA focused on emergency preparedness for persons with disabilities.
During the meeting, the company proposed expanding its Sagip CPR Campaign through disability-inclusive Hands-Only CPR training. The initiative would seek to make basic life-saving skills more accessible to persons with disabilities, caregivers, family members, and others who provide daily support.
Possible measures include adapting training methods and educational materials according to participants’ needs and working with disability organizations and specialists to encourage meaningful participation in emergency preparedness activities.
“Emergency preparedness should be inclusive, and persons with disabilities should be given opportunities to learn and participate in life-saving initiatives such as CPR training,” Larraga said.
Through the proposed partnership, Bell-Kenz Pharma hopes to strengthen household and community preparedness while making emergency-response education accessible to more Filipinos.
Its involvement in the national committee further reflects the company’s continuing collaboration with government agencies, healthcare professionals, disability organizations, and community partners in advancing more inclusive and responsive health initiatives.
