Baskets of Hope for the Holidays

Beneficiaries from Barangay Zone 4 receive Christmas packs during Handog Pamasko distribution in WalterMart Dasmariñas as part of the company’s annual season-of-sharing initiative.

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, while malls buzzed with last-minute shoppers and streets filled with familiar carols, another kind of preparation was quietly taking place inside WalterMart stores. It was not for decorations or promotions, but for thousands of families who would soon gather around modest tables, hoping to share a warm meal and a peaceful holiday.

Learners from Malasin Elementary School and Pinagcuartelan Elementary School take part in the Handog Pamasko Christmas pack distribution at WalterMart San Jose, Nueva Ecija.

Through its annual Handog Pamasko program, WalterMart Supermarket rolled out a simple but meaningful mission: to make sure more homes would welcome Christmas with food on the table. This year, more than 9,600 grocery packs were prepared and distributed across communities in Metro Manila, North Luzon, and South Luzon—each one carefully assembled with essential items packed in the familiar Sarap ng Pasko bag.

Smiles light up as members of the Pulong Santa Cruz Persons with Disabilities (PWD) group receive Christmas packs during the Handog Pamasko distribution at WalterMart Bel-Air.

What makes the program special is how it brings people together. Customers contribute through their everyday shopping, employees volunteer their time to sort and deliver goods, and community partners help identify families who need support most.

WalterMart Silang team distributes Christmas packs to learners of Biga Elementary School, reflecting the company’s dedication to community support through Handog Pamasko.

Working closely with local government units, WalterMart ensures that the grocery packs reach indigent households, community groups, and partner organizations, turning a retail space into a bridge between generosity and need.

Students from Makiling Elementary School receive Christmas during the Handog Pamasko distribution at WalterMart Makiling, capturing the spirit of the season.

For many recipients, the grocery pack means fewer worries about holiday expenses and more room for togetherness—children sharing stories, grandparents watching over dinner, and families pausing from daily struggles, even just for one night.

Families from Heart Warriors of the Philippines Inc., an organization supporting children and adults with heart conditions, receive Christmas packs during the Handog Pamasko distribution in Barangay Putatan, Muntinlupa City.

Launched in 2012, Handog Pamasko has grown into a cornerstone of WalterMart’s corporate social responsibility efforts. Over the years, it has reached more than 200,000 families, reflecting the company’s belief that responsible business is not only about serving customers, but also about standing beside communities in moments that matter most.

Members of the Philippine National Police – Nueva Ecija Provincial Police Office (PNP-NEPPO) receive Christmas packs distributed by WalterMart Cabanatuan team as a gesture of appreciation for their service through the Handog Pamasko program.

In every packed bag and every shared meal, the message remains the same: the true spirit of Christmas lives in kindness that is quietly passed from one home to another.
