Baliuag University, in collaboration with the Department of Education Schools Division Office (DepEd SDO) of Baliwag and the Zonta Club of Baliuag, has launched a free computer literacy training program aimed at enhancing digital skills among educators and school staff. This initiative was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing held at the Baliuag University Main Conference Room.

The program, spearheaded by the university’s College of Information Technology Education (CITE), seeks to equip DepEd teaching and non-teaching personnel, as well as Zonta beneficiaries, with essential digital competencies. Participants will receive training on various technological tools, including MS Teams, Canva, MS Excel, and other emerging educational platforms.
Key figures in attendance at the MOA signing included Baliuag University President Dr. Patricia Lagunda, Schools Division Superintendent Mrs. Rowena Quimbao, and Zonta Club of Baliuag President Ma. Jonnah Nubla Estrella. Their presence, along with BU Halina Program Director Dean Elizabeth Roxas, Program Coordinator Mrs. Lourdes Policarpio, and CITE Dean Clarissa Vicente, demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting digital literacy and professional development.
This partnership represents a significant step toward bridging the digital divide in education. By providing accessible training, the initiative empowers educators to integrate technology effectively in their work, ultimately enhancing the quality of education.
Through this collaborative effort, Baliuag University, DepEd SDO Baliwag, and the Zonta Club of Baliuag reaffirm their dedication to fostering technological proficiency and innovation within the academic sector. Their shared vision ensures that education professionals are better equipped to meet the evolving demands of a digital world.
