vivo is ushering in a bold new chapter in smartphone technology as it unveils OriginOS to the global market on October 15, 2025, live from Shanghai, China.
Since its introduction in China, OriginOS has earned praise for its sleek design, fluid performance, and unparalleled customization options. Now, for the first time, millions of vivo users worldwide—including those in the Philippines—will be able to experience the operating system that has redefined the way smartphones interact with their users.
For more than a decade, vivo devices outside China have relied on FuntouchOS, first launched in 2013. With the transition to OriginOS, the brand signals not only an upgrade in software but also a milestone moment in its global journey.
In a message to Filipino users, vivo Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer Shi Yujian shared that OriginOS was built to “deliver a smoother and smarter mobile experience.” Echoing this, vivo Philippines CEO Zeng Kai emphasized, “This upgrade is a leap forward in speed, design, and intelligence that will elevate how Filipinos connect and create every day.”
The global launch will also serve as the stage for the debut of the vivo X300 Series, the first smartphones powered by OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. With enhanced performance, an intuitive layout, and visually striking design, the X300 Series promises to redefine what users expect the moment they power up their devices.
vivo invites users around the world to be part of this milestone through the OriginOS Global Launch Event on October 15. Live coverage, exclusive content, and major announcements will be available on vivoglobal.ph and vivo’s official channels on Facebook, Instagram, X, and TikTok.
The future of mobile experience is here—and for vivo users everywhere, it begins with OriginOS.
