A Health Hub Renewed for the Community

New San Vicente Health Center in Quezon City. The health center is set to better serve over 15,000 residents from four different barangays after the SM Foundation completes its renovation.

Access to quality primary healthcare took a significant step forward in Quezon City as the newly renovated San Vicente Health Center officially opened its doors to better serve local residents. Completed and turned over by SM Foundation, the upgraded facility is now equipped to provide improved healthcare services to an estimated 15,000 people from four surrounding barangays.

The renovation was carried out in close coordination with the Quezon City local government and aligned with the standards set by the Department of Health. With these improvements, the San Vicente Health Center is now positioned to apply for accreditation as a Primary Care Facility—strengthening its role as a first point of contact for everyday health needs in the community.

The foundation enhances the facility’s layout, optimizing spaces to create a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for both health professionals and patients.

Designed with both patients and health workers in mind, the upgraded center features enhanced consultation rooms, a more spacious waiting area, and dedicated facilities that improve workflow and patient comfort. New additions include a pharmacy and dental clinic, a breastfeeding area for mothers, and specialized spaces for senior citizens, pregnant women, and children. These upgrades aim to ensure more efficient service delivery while making healthcare more accessible and inclusive.

To further expand access to care, the health center has been equipped with DigiKonsulta, a digital health solution that allows residents to consult with doctors remotely. Local health officials noted that the improved facility is expected to encourage preventive care and healthier habits, as residents now have a more functional and welcoming space for routine checkups, maternal and child care, immunization, and other essential services.

Through a social good collaboration, the SM Retail distributes health kits to residents and toys to children in the community.

In celebration of the turnover, SM Foundation also organized a medical mission that benefited more than 300 residents. The activity offered free medical consultations, X-ray services, and electrocardiograms (ECG), helping address immediate health concerns within the community. Complementing these efforts, SM Retail distributed health kits to residents and toys to young students, adding a touch of care beyond clinical services.

SM Foundation conducts a medical mission in Brgy. San Vicente, supporting the turnover of the barangay’s health center.

The San Vicente Health Center marks the 225th health facility completed by SM Foundation nationwide and the 10th upgraded in Quezon City—underscoring the foundation’s continued commitment to strengthening community-based healthcare and supporting healthier Filipino communities.
