In celebration of National Migrant Workers’ Day, Sun Life Philippines partnered with the Blas F. Ople Policy Center and Training Institute to host the Global Pinoy Health and Financial Wellness Day. The event focused on empowering Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) through health and financial education, while honoring their sacrifices and vital contributions to the country.
One of the highlights was the launch of Sun Life OFW Health Protect, the first health insurance plan made especially for OFWs and their families. This new product is a big step toward providing OFWs with better health coverage wherever they are in the world.
A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was also signed between Sun Life and the Blas F. Ople Policy Center. Through this partnership, both organizations are committed to helping OFWs achieve financial security and build a solid path toward returning home permanently. As part of the collaboration, Sun Life gifted a special edition of its financial literacy board game, Play for Life: A Game of Choices, redesigned to teach OFWs smart money management in a fun and interactive way.
The event ended with an expo filled with activities that provided OFWs and their families valuable information about health protection, financial planning, and reintegration programs.

“Our partnership is a step toward building a more secure future for OFWs,” said Carla Gonzalez-Chong, Chief Client Experience and Marketing Officer at Sun Life. Estelle Ople Osorio, President of the Blas F. Ople Policy Center, added, “This collaboration will help more OFWs access the tools they need to succeed financially.”
This joint effort is part of Shine Pinoy, Sun Life’s mission to support OFWs in creating a brighter, more secure life with their loved ones back home.
