BingoPlus and Regal Bring Filipino Horror Classics to Digital Gaming

The legendary monsters of Philippine cinema are making a comeback, this time through interactive digital entertainment, as BingoPlus and Regal Entertainment join forces to give the iconic Shake, Rattle & Roll franchise a new generation of fans.

For more than 40 years, Shake, Rattle & Roll has captured the imagination of Filipino moviegoers with spine-chilling stories, supernatural creatures, and unforgettable scenes that transformed ordinary places into terrifying encounters. Now, the celebrated horror franchise is entering a new chapter as its legendary characters find their way into the digital gaming world.

Through a partnership between Regal Entertainment and BingoPlus, the flagship entertainment platform of DigiPlus Interactive Corp., five original games inspired by the popular film series have been introduced: Manananggal, Reyna Ahas, Triple Terror, LRT Monster, and Aswang.

The collaboration combines Regal’s decades of cinematic storytelling with DigiPlus’ digital entertainment technology, creating a fresh way for audiences to experience characters deeply rooted in Filipino folklore and popular culture.

Since its debut in 1984, Shake, Rattle & Roll has become one of the Philippines’ most recognizable horror franchises. Its frightening tales of mythical creatures, haunted locations, and supernatural encounters have entertained generations while highlighting the country’s rich tradition of storytelling.

For Regal Entertainment President Roselle Monteverde, the partnership represents an opportunity to preserve the franchise’s cultural significance while introducing its memorable characters to younger audiences.

“For more than four decades, Shake, Rattle & Roll has remained part of Philippine popular culture through stories that are distinctly Filipino,” Monteverde said.

Erin Tagudin, Head of Branding Communications

She emphasized that the collaboration with DigiPlus creates new possibilities for the franchise while maintaining the storytelling traditions and cultural identity behind its enduring popularity.

Meanwhile, DigiPlus Chairman Eusebio Tanco highlighted the company’s commitment to delivering innovative and engaging entertainment experiences.

“Our goal is to give our players premium entertainment. This partnership is also an example of how we work: we put our customers first. We listen to what our players enjoy, and we keep working to give them something fresh, engaging, and made for them,” Tanco said.

He added that working with Regal Entertainment strengthens the company’s ability to offer thoughtfully designed games inspired by established Filipino entertainment properties.

Beyond introducing new gaming experiences, the partnership demonstrates how Philippine entertainment companies can reinvent familiar stories through emerging digital platforms.

By combining cinematic nostalgia with modern technology, BingoPlus and Regal are extending the reach of Filipino horror storytelling beyond traditional movie screens.

The five Shake, Rattle & Roll-inspired games are now available on the BingoPlus app, with a gradual expansion planned for DigiPlus’ other entertainment platforms, ArenaPlus and GameZone.

As the entertainment industry continues to evolve, the collaboration illustrates how homegrown creative properties can remain relevant by adapting to changing audience preferences.

For longtime fans, the games offer a nostalgic encounter with the monsters that once haunted their childhood movie experiences. For younger audiences, they provide a new introduction to the supernatural characters that helped shape Philippine horror cinema.

The screams may have started inside movie theaters, but the legacy of Shake, Rattle & Roll is finding new life on digital screens—proving that great Filipino horror stories never truly disappear.
