Globe strengthened its network performance in August 2026, posting its highest overall score and fastest average download speed of the year based on the latest Telco Report Card released by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
The telecommunications company received an overall score of 81.5, representing a 4.4-point improvement from January. Its average download speed climbed to 45.9 Mbps, the highest recorded for Globe so far in 2026. The figure was 5.1% faster than in July and 26% higher than the 36.5 Mbps registered at the beginning of the year.
Network quality also improved from 69.2 to 71.2, while latency remained at 20 milliseconds.
The results come amid continuing efforts by the government and telecommunications companies to improve the reliability and accessibility of digital services nationwide. Globe said its network investments, technology upgrades, and targeted improvements support initiatives of the DICT and National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), particularly in communities facing connectivity challenges.
“Customers need a network they can depend on every day, and that goes beyond speed. It means being able to stay connected consistently, including during periods of high demand, disruptions and emergencies,” said Atty. Froilan Castelo, Globe General Counsel.
Castelo added that while recent improvements indicate that investments are producing results, more work remains necessary in communities where network experience can still be strengthened.
During the first half of 2026, Globe invested ₱26.3 billion in capital expenditures, with 91% allocated to data-related initiatives.
The company has also introduced technology designed to strengthen network resilience during disruptions. Its Automated Outage Response system can retain up to 50% of data connectivity during outages by automatically optimizing nearby cell sites. Without the technology, Globe said connectivity retention could fall below 10%.
Expanding coverage in underserved locations is another part of the company’s network strategy. In July, Globe activated mobile connectivity in 52 previously unserved Geographically Isolated and Disadvantaged Areas.
The rollout completed Globe’s commitment to provide services across all 180 project locations covered by the DICT connectivity initiative.
As demand for dependable digital access continues to grow, Globe said it will maintain investments in infrastructure, automation, and network improvements aimed at delivering more consistent connectivity to customers nationwide.
