In the aftermath of the recent earthquake that shook Cebu, SM Foundation extended its unwavering commitment to community care through a two-day medical mission held on October 14 and 15, 2025, at SM Cares Village in Bogo City and San Remigio.

The outreach provided essential medical and surgical services to 460 residents who were affected by the disaster. Patients received free consultations, X-rays, ECGs, and laboratory tests for blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, and hemoglobin—helping ensure that urgent and preventive healthcare needs were met even in the midst of crisis.

Among the surgical cases attended to were a motor accident patient requiring suture removal and a 9-year-old child whose leg wound was caused by falling debris during the tremor. Despite continued aftershocks, volunteer doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals joined hands under SM Foundation’s medical program to deliver critical aid where it was needed most.

This mission forms part of SM Foundation’s ongoing efforts to bring medical access closer to vulnerable and disaster-stricken communities. By providing free healthcare services and promoting preventive health practices, the Foundation continues to decongest local hospitals and uplift the well-being of Filipinos—proving that in times of calamity, compassion and collective action can heal even the hardest-hit communities.
