2GO SCVASI Boosts Cold Chain with New Reefer Vans and ISO Tanks

From harvest to hub to home, 2GO Special Containers and Value-Added Services, Inc. (SCVASI) is tightening the cold chain that keeps the country’s kitchens, clinics, and factories running. The 2GO Group subsidiary has rolled out a new wave of specialized assets—40-foot high-cube reefer containers fitted with Thermo King Magnum systems and 20-foot ISO tanks for food-grade liquids—designed to raise capacity, resilience, and control across multimodal routes nationwide.

The expansion is both technical and practical. Magnum-equipped reefers push stable set points down to –40°C (versus the typical –30°C), deliver faster pull-down for freshly harvested produce and frozen proteins, and run with improved energy efficiency for long hauls by sea and land. ISO tanks, meanwhile, add secure, internationally certified carriage for edible oils, syrups, and other bulk liquids that previously relied on fragmented trucking. Together, the additions lift SCVASI’s overall transport capacity by nearly 50%, giving shippers more space exactly where supply chains feel the squeeze.

For agribusiness growers, food manufacturers, and quick-service restaurants, the upgrade translates to fewer temperature excursions, tighter lead times, and steadier inventories. For communities, it means everyday essentials—frozen staples, vaccines that require deep-freeze conditions, and ingredients for packaged foods—arrive on time and in spec. With end-to-end handling and monitoring, SCVASI’s specialized network acts as a single steward from consolidation to last-mile handoff, minimizing touches and risk while maintaining product integrity.

This investment reflects our commitment to continuously meet the evolving needs of our customers by providing more sustainable and efficient logistics solutions,” said Gener Lim, Business Unit Head of 2GO SCVASI. “By expanding our fleet, we are supporting industries that keep communities supplied, strengthening nationwide logistics, and reinforcing our role as a partner in the country’s growth.”

The new assets are already in rotation across the archipelago, slotting into SCVASI’s sea-land schedules and interport connections. High-cube reefers maximize payload per move while maintaining precise temperature control, and ISO tanks shorten turnarounds at plants with safer loading systems and standardized fittings. As demand patterns shift, capacity can be flexed toward growth corridors or surge lanes without compromising quality or safety.

By continuing to invest in specialized equipment and disciplined operations, 2GO SCVASI is building a colder, cleaner, and more connected chain—one that gives customers confidence, gives shippers scale, and gives the country a logistics backbone fit for the next decade. Whether moving mangoes from Mindanao or cooking oil from Batangas, the mission is simple: protect integrity and deliver on-time. For service inquiries, email [email protected].
