SM, BFP Unite for Historic Women’s Month and Fire Prevention Tribute

In a groundbreaking display of solidarity, SM Prime and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) marked Women’s Month and Fire Prevention Month with a stunning visual tribute at SM Mall of Asia (MOA). For the first time, the MOA Globe was illuminated alongside a grand formation of the female (Venus) symbol, created using over 180 fire trucks. This powerful display aimed to highlight the role of women in fire prevention and disaster resilience, reinforcing the message, “Sa Pag-iwas Sa Sunog, Hindi Ka Nag-iisa—Kababaihan, Kasama Mo!”

As the fire trucks lit up in unison, their red lights formed a circle and cross, with the MOA Globe at its center, making for a breathtaking and symbolic scene. This initiative is part of the ‘Women on Fire’ series, which includes the 4th Nationwide Simultaneous Fire Drill in all SM Supermalls, a Safe Spaces Act Orientation, the Fire Square Road Show, and partnerships with the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the DILG-NCR for Women’s Month and Open Government Forum activities.

“The Purple Illumination of our malls and assets, combined with the striking Female Symbol formation, is a testament to our unwavering commitment to women’s rights, empowerment, and equality,” said Atty. Pearly Joan Jayagan Turley. She emphasized that the strong partnership between SM Supermalls, BFP, and fire volunteer groups reflects a shared mission to build risk-resilient communities where women play a vital role in disaster preparedness and safety.

This collaborative initiative not only celebrated women’s contributions to fire prevention but also underscored the importance of inclusivity and community resilience. With the MOA Globe as a beacon of awareness, the event sent a powerful message across the nation, reminding everyone that fire safety and gender equality go hand in hand.
