2GO Travel and DTI Set Sail to Empower Filipino MSMEs Through OTOP Partnership

(L–R) 2GO Travel Head of Product Development George Clayton P. Narag; PhilExport Region 12 Chapter President Cecilia Loquias; PhilExport Head Office Vice President for Promotions Leonor Abella; Head of DTI Regional Operations Group Undersecretary Blesila Lantayona; 2GO Travel Business Unit Head Francis John Chua; DTI Region 12 Regional Director Flora D. Politud-Gabunales, CESO V; and 2GO Travel AVP for F&B, Ancillary, and Hotel Operations Roland Sunga.

2GO Travel, the Philippines’ leading sea travel and logistics company, is charting a new course for Filipino entrepreneurship through its partnership with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) to promote the One Town, One Product (OTOP) program. Anchored under the Biyahe2Business campaign, the collaboration transforms 2GO vessels into moving marketplaces—showcasing regional specialties, craftsmanship, and Filipino creativity across the archipelago.

The initiative officially launches with OTOP Region 12 as its pilot partner, featuring a curated display of homegrown goods onboard MV 2GO Masinag. Passengers can now discover and purchase products that represent the rich culture and ingenuity of Filipino MSMEs. More regional OTOP corners will soon appear on other 2GO vessels, turning every voyage into a celebration of local enterprise.

DTI-12 Regional Director Flora D. Politud-Gabunales, CESO V, highlighted the program’s potential: “Through this collaboration, MSMEs gain greater visibility while travelers experience the diversity of Filipino craftsmanship. 2GO’s logistics network gives our local entrepreneurs a bridge to national and even international markets.”

Aligned with DTI’s Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC), the partnership strengthens MSME participation in the country’s logistics and trade ecosystem through real-time transport information, market linkages, and capacity-building programs.

For 2GO, the partnership reinforces its long-standing mission to connect people, communities, and opportunities. “At 2GO, we move more than just passengers—we move possibilities,” said Francis John Chua, Business Unit Head of 2GO Travel. “Our 50KG luggage allowance, reliable routes, and affordable rates empower entrepreneurs to ship their products efficiently while reaching new customers across the islands. Every trip becomes a journey for business growth.”

Beyond product showcases, 2GO Travel will offer special travel discounts, group tour packages, and dedicated MSME mobility programs to make business travel and logistics more cost-effective. With routes linking Manila to key trade centers—Cebu, Bacolod, Iloilo, Cagayan de Oro, Davao, and General Santos City—2GO is redefining how Filipino products reach wider markets by sea.

Through this partnership, 2GO and DTI are not only transporting goods—they’re sailing toward a shared vision of economic empowerment, where every Filipino town has the chance to shine beyond its shores.
