2GO Expands Cross-Docking Network to Boost Supply Chain Efficiency

2GO, a major player in the Philippines’ logistics sector, has relaunched its cross-docking services to provide faster market access, reduce handling times, and improve supply chain performance for businesses nationwide.

Cross-docking, a logistics method where products are transferred directly from inbound to outbound transport without long-term storage, is aimed at streamlining operations and lowering costs. 2GO’s network now includes established hubs in Metro Manila and new facilities in Pampanga and Cebu, with additional sites planned to meet growing client demand. The expanded coverage is intended to improve regional accessibility and product movement across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

The company’s cross-docking services operate on a shared economy model, allowing multiple businesses to consolidate transport and handling requirements. This approach helps reduce logistics expenses, ensures more frequent deliveries, and improves product availability on store shelves. It also enables quicker responses to changes in market demand.

Rommel Recio, Head of 2GO’s Logistics Business Unit, said the company’s existing warehouse management services have long delivered efficiency benefits to established clients. The decision to open the service to a broader market, he added, is meant to help more businesses operate leaner and react faster to consumer needs.

The service is now supported by the INFOR Warehouse Management System (WMS), a platform designed to increase operational accuracy, speed up picking processes, and enhance inventory movement. This technology integration is expected to improve delivery reliability and shorten lead times.

Frederic C. DyBuncio, President and CEO of 2GO Group Inc., highlighted the company’s intention to strengthen its logistics reach in key growth areas, particularly in the Visayas and Mindanao. By combining its cross-docking capabilities with its interisland shipping network, 2GO aims to position products closer to end consumers while reducing transport inefficiencies.

The relaunch also addresses common client concerns such as underutilized truck capacity, uneconomical transport routes, and inconsistent product availability. Through optimized transport flows and coordinated scheduling, the company expects to deliver on-time, in-full shipments more consistently.

Industry analysts note that efficient cross-docking can help businesses maintain competitiveness by lowering operational costs and enhancing responsiveness in supply chains. With its expanded network and integrated logistics services, 2GO seeks to play a larger role in supporting these goals for its partners nationwide.
