2GO, one of the Philippines’ leading integrated transportation and logistics providers, has strengthened its commitment to supporting regional development by convening key stakeholders in Cebu for a forum focused on improving connectivity and expanding economic opportunities across Central Visayas.

The gathering brought together representatives from the business sector, government agencies, and industry leaders to exchange ideas on how efficient transportation and logistics systems can help sustain growth in trade, tourism, and investments. Organized in partnership with the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and coordinated with the Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev) Region VII, the event highlighted the importance of collaboration in building a more competitive regional economy.

Opening the discussion, 2GO Marketing Business Unit Head Ethel Concepcion emphasized the company’s commitment to working closely with businesses and communities to address operational challenges while identifying opportunities for long-term growth.

“We want to hear your pain points and identify your areas of growth so we can co-create solutions together,” Concepcion said, stressing that continuous dialogue is essential in creating logistics solutions that respond to the evolving needs of regional industries.

CCCI President Regan Rex King echoed the importance of stronger connectivity in driving economic progress. He noted that efficient transport and logistics networks enable businesses to deliver products more quickly, improve supply chain reliability, and make tourism destinations easier to access. These improvements, he added, help strengthen local industries while opening doors to new markets.

The forum also featured an economic outlook from DEPDev Region VII Assistant Regional Director Evelyn Nacario-Castro, who presented Central Visayas as one of the country’s fastest-growing regional economies. Ranked as the Philippines’ fourth-largest regional economy in 2025, the region continues to benefit from infrastructure development, with 90 Strategic High-Impact Projects (SHIPs) expected to move forward in 2027. These initiatives are expected to improve transportation systems, freight movement, and overall regional competitiveness.

An executive panel discussion titled “Strengthening Connectivity for Tourism, Trade, and Regional Growth” brought together industry experts, including King and 2GO executives Francis John Chua of Travel, Faye Allonzo of Forwarding, and Sharon Musngi-Ngo of Sea Solutions. The panel explored how integrated transport services and stronger partnerships between the public and private sectors can enhance regional mobility and support business expansion.

As demand for efficient logistics continues to grow, 2GO reaffirmed its commitment to building stronger connections across Central Visayas by working closely with government agencies, business organizations, and local enterprises. Through its nationwide multimodal network, the company aims to help move goods more efficiently, connect communities, and contribute to a more resilient and inclusive economy for the region.
