Thundr PH and Cordillera Pride Community Leaders (CPCL) kicked off Pride Month by formalizing a significant partnership aimed at fostering acceptance and inclusivity for the older LGBTQIA+ community in the Cordillera region. This collaboration represents a pivotal moment in the ongoing effort to make the Cordilleras a welcoming and inclusive destination for LGBTQIA+ individuals.

In a ceremonial event at Baguio City Hall, Mayor Benjamin Magalong administered the oath of office to the newly appointed officers of the Cordillera Pride Community. Amidst a backdrop of fluttering flags, these officers pledged their unwavering dedication to serving the community, embodying the unity and resilience of the Cordillera region. This Flag Raising Ceremony was a historic occasion, highlighting the community’s steadfast resolve to uphold pride and honor in service.

CPCL Officers, Baguio Mayor Benjamin Magalong, and City Councilor Elmer Orzal Datuin warmly welcome Thundr PH to Baguio City. The partnership with CPCL underscores Thundr’s commitment to supporting the LGBTQIA+ community in the Cordilleras.

The signing of the partnership agreement was attended by CPCL leaders Althea Marie Latuhan (Advocacy and Policy Director), Ryan B. Javier (Program Director), and Van C. Sanchez (Founder/Executive Director). Representing Thundr were Shatella Suzara (Marketing Manager), Tom Eugenio (Chief Executive Officer), Blue Marquez (Chief Operating Officer), Mike Galvez (CTO & General Manager of Tanders, Inc.), Jerish Baquiran (WeBrand Associate Brand Manager), Jerome Estepa, and Paolo Rosal.

We are thrilled to partner with Cordillera Pride Community Leaders to bring vibrant pride events to the Cordilleran LGBTQIA+ community and their allies.” said Michael Y. Galvez, Thundr’s General Manager.

This partnership with Thundr marks a new chapter in our mission to create a more inclusive environment for the LGBTQIA+ community in the Cordilleras. Together, we will work towards making this region a beacon of acceptance and pride,” stated Van C. Sanchez, Founder and Executive Director of CPCL.

In a heartfelt display of commitment and support, Thundr and CPCL have also launched Ang Huling Rampa, an advocacy initiative that ensures dignified burials for deceased LGBTQIA+ elders. This initiative highlights the importance of community solidarity and respect for our elders. Supporters can contribute to this cause by subscribing to Thundrbolt or making a donation through the app’s Advocacy page. The two organizations are inviting the public to expect more exciting developments from their partnership in July.

Thundr continues to lead the way as the pioneering community app for LGBTQIA+ individuals in the Philippines.
