In a groundbreaking collaboration that fuses heritage and innovation, NUSTAR Online has joined forces with MNL Fashion Week (Manila Fashion Week) to celebrate Filipino artistry through modern fashion and locally crafted textiles. The partnership highlights the growing movement to place Philippine design at the center of global fashion conversations—where creativity meets culture and craftsmanship tells the Filipino story.

Luxury today means authenticity and artistry,” shared Krizia Cortez, NUSTAR Online’s Director of Public Relations. “Through this partnership, we aim to elevate Filipino design and showcase the remarkable talent and cultural richness of our local artisans on an international stage.”

This year’s MNL Fashion Week ushers in a new wave of Filipino pride, partnering with the Department of Science and Technology–Philippine Textile Research Institute (DOST-PTRI) to feature homegrown fabrics such as piña and piña blends in contemporary ready-to-wear collections. The initiative bridges traditional craftsmanship and modern fashion sensibilities, redefining what it means to wear something truly Filipino.

Filipino fashion is evolving,” said John Lozano, founder of MNL Fashion Week. “It’s not just about the terno or the barong anymore. Even a leather jacket can be Filipino if it’s made by Filipino hands using Filipino fabrics. Our goal is to show the world that our style is authentic, modern, and globally relevant.”

The inaugural Manila Fashion Week promises an immersive experience with eight designer showcases across four days, staged at SM Aura’s Samsung Hall and a custom-built Fashion Week Tent. Beyond the runway, guests can explore lounges, interactive vignettes, and art-meets-fashion installations that celebrate the vibrancy of Philippine creativity.

For both NUSTAR Online and MNL Fashion Week, the collaboration is more than fashion—it’s a cultural statement. Together, they are redefining the global perception of Filipino design, weaving tradition and innovation into one powerful narrative of pride, creativity, and identity.
