The Home of the Original Creamy Spinach Dip Pizza

Food has always been more than just a meal for Filipinos, it’s ingrained in our culture that in any occasion, gathering at the dining table is somewhat an omen of celebration, and a nod of respect. What’s served on the table on the other hand is another matter, but it is one that Angel’s Pizza has taken to heart.

It’s probably why when you scroll through your social media feed, you’ll spot the crowd-favorite Angel’s Pizza Creamy Spinach Dip. Though it has been around since 2018, it continues to capture fans to date. Rested on an option of hand-tossed or thin crust, its toppings is a medley of four cheeses, cream, onions, and of course hearty dollops of the much-raved spinach.

If you’re thinking this combination is a brow-raiser, think again. It’s a perfectly orchestrated combination has been carefully crafted by the Angel’s Pizza product development team and its Chief Product Strategist and Executive Director of Figaro Coffee Systems, Inc., Justin Liu. “We wanted to create something exotic, less greasy and with a vegetable component to it, but with a flavor that is still delicious. We tested several different vegetables and selected spinach, no pizza brand has ever thought of making a mainstream pizza product using this vegetable before.” says Justin Liu about his brainchild. To say it’s ingenious is an understatement, not only has the recognized pizza been their best-seller for years, it’s given other brands a nudge to join in on the Spinach Dip bandwagon.

But what exactly about the Creamy Spinach Dip makes it so palatable to the everyday Filipino? It isn’t just the culmination of ingredients, it’s also the history behind the decision to choose spinach as its hero component. “Spinach in itself is already well-known to the Filipino palate. Re-inventing and presenting spinach in a different and unique way was the idea. In formulating the spinach mix for the pizza concept, Angel’s uses different cream and cheeses to perfect that creamy spinach dip palette.” says Justin Liu.

It seems that Angel’s Pizza has cracked the code in creating a pizza that can top the trends but remain timeless too. Offering delectable ingredients that marry into a memorable bite while paying homage to an ingredient that has long lived in the history of Filipino food, Angel’s Pizza has earned the right to be dubbed as the home of the original Creamy Spinach Dip Pizza.
