Taiwan Expo 2025 Set to Reignite Taiwan-Philippines Trade Ties

After a six-year break, the Taiwan Expo 2025 in the Philippines is making a powerful comeback from September 17 to 19 at the SMX Convention Center in Manila, organized by the Taiwan International Trade Administration (TITA) and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA). A special press event on August 13 offered a first look at the innovations and solutions that over 140 top Taiwanese companies will showcase, sparking anticipation among Philippine industry leaders and media.

TAITRA Deputy Executive Director Woody Wang underscored the expo’s role in Taiwan’s post-pandemic re-engagement with the Philippines, noting its alignment with market trends and government priorities. The exhibition will be organized into five themed pavilions—Green & Sustainability, Agritech & Aquatech, Health & Wellness, Smart Technologies, and Intelligent Lifestyle—highlighting Taiwan’s industrial versatility and innovation.

Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Minister Dustin Teng-Shi Yang emphasized how Taiwan’s advanced technology and manufacturing expertise complement the Philippines’ growing economy and young workforce. Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) Corporate Secretary Atty. Evangeline Q. de Leon described the expo as a vital platform for expanding markets and fostering bilateral partnerships, while Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Vice President for Trade Bryan Ang praised Taiwan’s innovation and agility as assets to mutual growth.

Product previews revealed solutions for pressing Philippine needs. In Agritech & Aquatech, MIC Meter Industrial Co., Ltd. featured its Bluetooth Soil Nutrition Meter and AIoT Pig Counter Board for precision farming, while JNC Technology Co., Ltd. presented advanced gas and water monitoring systems. In Smart Technologies, AIRA Corporation introduced its AI-powered airaTrack surveillance integration, and Zyxel Networks showcased secure, cloud-based networking products.

Health & Wellness innovations included ASUS’s smart medical applications and V5med Inc.’s AI-assisted lung diagnostics. Under Green & Sustainability, hiPower Hydrogen Technology Co., Ltd. demonstrated renewable hydrogen energy solutions, and Super Battery Co., Ltd. unveiled new lithium battery applications. Intelligent Lifestyle highlights ranged from SHAAN HONQ INT’L COSMETICS CORP.’s premium hair care to Morita Biotech Co., Ltd.’s popular skincare lines.

Drawing support from industry associations, chambers of commerce, and the Taiwanese community, Taiwan Expo 2025 promises to be a springboard for greater trade, technology exchange, and sustainable growth between the two nations—ushering in a new chapter of economic collaboration.
