Sun Life Strengthens MSME Support Through Expanded Go Negosyo Partnership

Sun Life Philippines is marking its 130th anniversary with a stronger push to empower Filipino entrepreneurs. The country’s leading life insurer recently expanded its collaboration with Go Negosyo, furthering their shared mission to support micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs)—often called the backbone of the Philippine economy.

Through this partnership, Sun Life advisors will now be a regular feature at Go Negosyo’s 3M on Wheels caravans, a roving initiative that delivers mentorship, money, and market opportunities directly to business owners nationwide. At these events, entrepreneurs can access free one-on-one financial consultations, helping them understand insurance, savings, and planning tools tailored to their needs.

The expansion builds on the success of last year’s 25 caravans, which reached thousands of MSMEs. Positive feedback underscored the importance of accessible financial guidance for entrepreneurs navigating uncertain economic landscapes. This year, the collaboration goes beyond consultations, introducing financial literacy talks and even gamified learning sessions through Play for Life: A Game of Choices, Sun Life’s interactive board game designed to simplify complex money concepts.

Carla Gonzalez-Chong, Chief Client Experience and Marketing Officer of Sun Life Philippines, emphasized the alignment of values: “Entrepreneurship thrives when people are financially empowered. As we celebrate 130 years, we want MSMEs to feel secure about their future because they are vital to our nation’s growth.”

Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion echoed this sentiment, stressing that both public and private sectors must work hand in hand. “Access to capital and financial literacy are critical. Together, we can help more Filipinos realize their entrepreneurial dreams,” he said.

With this strengthened collaboration, Sun Life and Go Negosyo reaffirm their commitment to nurturing a financially resilient, entrepreneur-driven Philippines—one small business at a time.
