SM Prime Holdings, Inc. is ushering in a new chapter for live entertainment in the country through a partnership with global ticketing leader Ticketmaster, creating a new platform called SM Ticketmaster.

The collaboration signals Ticketmaster’s official entry into the Philippine market, reflecting the country’s growing appetite for concerts, sports events, festivals, and other live entertainment experiences. The new venture will eventually replace the current services of SM Tickets, introducing upgraded ticketing technology and enhanced customer experience features for Filipino fans.

By combining Ticketmaster’s international expertise with SM Prime’s extensive local operations, the partnership aims to modernize how audiences purchase and access tickets. The platform is expected to deliver improved security, stronger fraud prevention measures, and a more seamless ticket-buying journey for eventgoers nationwide.

SM Prime President Jeffrey C. Lim said the partnership represents a major step in strengthening the local entertainment industry while making ticket transactions more efficient and reliable for consumers. He emphasized that the company intends to support the continued expansion of live events in the Philippines by bringing world-class ticketing systems to local audiences.

Meanwhile, Ticketmaster Regional Vice President for Asia-Pacific Jim Kotsonis described the Philippines as a fast-growing entertainment market, driven by increasing demand for international tours, sporting events, and homegrown performances. He noted that the partnership with SM Prime provides an ideal foundation for Ticketmaster’s expansion in Southeast Asia.

The newly formed SM Ticketmaster will serve not only SM Prime-owned venues but also third-party organizers, promoters, and event spaces. These include major entertainment hubs such as SM Mall of Asia Arena, SMDC Festival Grounds, and the upcoming SM Seaside Cebu Arena.

Leading the operations is Mike Mangubat, who will oversee ticketing services ranging from event management and marketing support to customer service operations.

As the transition begins over the coming weeks, current SM Tickets users are encouraged to register with SM Ticketmaster to ensure uninterrupted access to future events and ticket purchases.

The launch comes as several major international acts are set to perform at SM venues this year, including Laufey, ITZY, Charlie Puth, LANY, Jason Mraz, and 5 Seconds of Summer, further highlighting the country’s booming live entertainment scene.
