SM Mall of Asia Complex Brings Runners Together

Runners take off at the starting line of the Galaxy Manila Marathon at the SM Mall of Asia Complex, one of the many running events that bring together athletes, families and fitness enthusiasts of all levels.

From competitive marathons to family-friendly fun runs, the SM Mall of Asia Complex continues to bring together fitness enthusiasts, families, and communities through exciting running events.

Running has become more than just a fitness activity at the SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Complex. It has evolved into a shared experience where people of different ages, interests, and abilities come together to celebrate health, friendship, entertainment, and meaningful causes.

From January to September 2026, the MOA Complex welcomed approximately 425,000 participants across 39 marathons and fun runs, reinforcing its position as one of Metro Manila’s leading destinations for large-scale running events.

Whether participants are aiming to break personal records, complete their first race, support an advocacy, or simply enjoy an active weekend with loved ones, the complex offers opportunities for everyone to join the excitement.

A Running Destination for Every Generation

For experienced runners, major competitions such as the Galaxy Manila Marathon and Santé Barley Trilogy Run Asia provided opportunities to test endurance through challenging 21K, 32K, and 42K distances.

Meanwhile, the HOKA Midnight Run introduced a different atmosphere, allowing participants to experience the thrill of running under the night sky.

Beginners and recreational runners also found their place through accessible events such as the DailyFix Power Run, Home Credit Takbo Para sa Life, and Watsons x Unilab Share the Alaga Run.

Beyond physical fitness, several events promoted social responsibility by highlighting environmental sustainability, mental health awareness, charitable initiatives, nationalism, diversity, and inclusion.

Adding excitement to the running calendar were entertainment-inspired events featuring beloved characters from Doraemon, Spider-Man, Disney, and Pokémon. These themed runs attracted families, children, and fans, transforming ordinary races into memorable bonding experiences.

Creating Experiences Beyond the Finish Line

SM Prime Holdings, Inc. President Jeffrey C. Lim emphasized that the MOA Complex aims to make running events welcoming and enjoyable for participants from all walks of life.

“We work closely with brands and race organizers to create opportunities for people of different ages, interests and fitness levels to participate,” Lim said.

He added that providing a safe and enjoyable environment remains an important priority, allowing participants to appreciate the entire experience before, during, and after each event.

The destination’s appeal extends beyond its running routes. After crossing the finish line, participants can explore restaurants and cafés, enjoy shopping at IKEA, discover maritime history at Museo del Galeón, or watch a movie at ScreenX.

For those seeking relaxation, the Wellness Zone and nearby salons offer convenient post-run options, while hotels, entertainment establishments, and scenic open spaces along Manila Bay provide additional opportunities for leisure.

Building a Stronger Running Community

The growing popularity of running events at the MOA Complex reflects the increasing interest in active lifestyles and shared recreational experiences.

By combining sporting events with shopping, dining, entertainment, and wellness activities, the complex has created an environment where a morning race can become an enjoyable day out for the entire family.

As more Filipinos embrace running for fitness, recreation, and community engagement, the SM Mall of Asia Complex continues to demonstrate that every runner has a place—whether competing for a medal, supporting a cause, or simply enjoying the journey toward the finish line.
