For more than two decades, SM Foundation has carried out a mission that goes beyond business—making healthcare accessible to Filipinos who need it most. This September, Cebu once again felt that commitment as the foundation rolled out back-to-back medical missions, proving that compassion and consistency can transform lives.
The health drive began at the Banilad Study Center in Cebu City, where hundreds lined up not only for medical consultations and dental care, but also for vital diagnostic tests such as cholesterol, glucose, and hemoglobin checks. The SM Foundation Mobile Clinic extended its reach further by offering X-rays and ECGs—services that many would otherwise find costly or inaccessible.

Just days later, the advocacy sailed across the waters to Olango Island, Lapu-Lapu City. There, even more families received medical attention, this time with the support of partners such as Watsons, Unilab, and the city’s local government. For residents, the mission meant more than free services—it was a reassurance that their health and wellbeing mattered.
What makes these efforts remarkable is not their scale alone, but their sustainability. Since launching its Medical Mission program in 2001, SM Foundation has mounted more than 1,700 missions, touching the lives of over 1.3 million Filipinos nationwide. From urban centers to far-flung islands, the foundation continues to build bridges where healthcare gaps exist.

In Cebu, this legacy is reinforced by infrastructure projects such as the newly turned over San Remigio Primary Care Facility and Naval Base Rafael Ramon Medical and Dental Dispensary—both serving as permanent testaments to SM’s commitment to community wellness.

For SM Foundation, each medical mission is more than an event. It is part of a bigger journey of compassion, one that seeks to make healthcare a right and not a privilege for every Filipino.
