Small businesses are the backbone of every economy. Apart from being an employer to many individuals, they also promote consumer spending and, in turn, bolster investor confidence.

In line with the current challenges, the national and local governments, alongside the private sector, have taken strides to lessen the effects of the ongoing global dilemma by alleviating small enterprises during these extraordinary times.

The HAFFINESS Franchise Roadshow, a project launched by the Association of Filipino Franchisers Inc. (AFFI), aims to connect aspiring entrepreneurs, OFWs, and retirees to franchisors of successful enterprises. It was launched at SM City Santa Rosa on August 19, 2022 wherein 18 franchisor-members took part to showcase their brands to aspiring and recovering entrepreneurs. Aside from  exhibitors, expert speakers shared development strategies to help MSMEs expand their businesses in the current business climate.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony took place to officially commence the roadshow. This done alongside the executives and heads from AFFI, the provincial government of Laguna, and SM Supermalls.

AFFI President Jaypee Morales gave his welcome remarks. In his message, he mentioned that as the country’s premier trade association that focuses on helping MSMEs, AFFI aims to provide technical assistance such as: effective trade and research coaching and assisting prospective entrepreneurs. He also cited how SM has helped plenty of MSMEs—through their tenants who have grown with them. He also recognized the other partners of AFFI from the private sector and the national government through the Department of Trade and Industry.

Laguna Economic Development and Investment Promotions Office (LEDIPO) Head Fatima Elenor Villasenor made a special appearance to wish the entrepreneurs the best of luck amid these trying times and recognize the value of MSMEs in ensuring the lifeline of the national economy and the largest employer of many Filipinos.

The event continues until Sunday, with each business presenting their franchise offers and deals to interested entrepreneurs. AFFI also continues to be an agent of change for all enterprises who want to achieve their dreams and our country’s endeavors.

For those in the Pampanga and North Luzon area the next leg of the HAFFINESS Franchise Roadshow continues on September 23 to 25 at SM City Clark. All entrepreneurs are invited to visit and see what franchise opportunities are in store for them.
