SM Cherry Shaw   kicks off “KICK IT, BEFORE IT KICKS YOU” at Cherry Turf PH

SM Cherry Shaw recently launched the “Kick It, Before It Kicks You” program dedicated to introduce the youth to sports, such as football at the 3rd level at Cherry Turf PH.

In an effort to promote physical activity as well as to support the government’s “ Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan” (BIDA) program,  SM Cherry Shaw teamed up with local government agencies,  (left to right)  PCOL Cesar T. Gerente, COP, Mandaluyong CPS; Harold James E. Herrera, SM Regional CRS Manager ; Atty. Ana Lyn R. Baltazar-Cortez, Asst. Regional Director DILG-NCR;  PBGEN Wilson Casil Asueta, District Director  Eastern Police District; Hon. Charisse Marie Abalos-Vargas, Counselor of Mandaluyong City ;  Raf Gastador, Chairman, Optimal Athletics, Inc. Cherry Turf PH;  and Kevin James Olayvar, CEO and President, Optimal Athletics, Inc. Cherry Turf  PH.

A joint project of SM Cherry Shaw, SM Cares, Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the Mandaluyong City Police Station, the program aims  to promote the government’s campaign  “ Buhay Ingatan, Droga’y Ayawan” (BIDA).

Students from Mataas na Paaralang Neptali A. Gonzales at Brgy. Mauway, Mandaluyong City receives  football coaching  skills from the Operations team  of Cherry Turf PH.

The program was led by true-blooded Mandaleño, DILG Sec. Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos Jr., who was later represented by Asst. Regional Director for DILG NCR Atty. Ana Lyn Baltazar-Cortez.  “Promoting a healthy lifestyle among students requires physical education within their core.

Gearing up and strengthening the youth to unleash their inner athletic skills.  The emotional health and mental strength of young players can be favorably impacted by football.

This initiative is among the many ways we can help the youth engage in physical activities like the sport football.  It is also another step forward in saving our youth, especially those in high school levels, who are most vulnerable to meeting unscrupulous members of the society involved in using and selling illegal drugs,” said Atty. Baltazar-Cortez.

The idea of conducting the football clinic in Cherry Turf PH to introduce the students to sports activity to encourage them to make the best of their summer vacation by learning about various sports event as shown here with the   students from  Mataas na Paaralang Neptali A. Gonzales at Brgy. Mauway, Mandaluyong City.

The activity was participated in by 100 high school students from Mataas na Paaralang Neptali A. Gonzales High School in Brgy. Mauway, Mandaluyong City.   Hundreds of security personnel deployed in SM Cherry Shaw, SM Center Pasig, SM Megamall and The Podium also took part and showed support for the program.

Cherry Turf PH is one of the  premier football pitches in the Metro located at the 3rd Level of SM Cherry Shaw, Mandaluyong City.
