A new kind of smartwatch experience is arriving for fans of both fitness and fun, as Garmin introduces Pokémon Sleep-inspired watch faces designed to make everyday wellness tracking more engaging. Now available for free through the Connect IQ™ Store, these themed designs bring a playful twist to select Garmin smartwatch lines, including the fēnix®, Forerunner®, Venu®, and vívoactive® series.
At the heart of this update is a simple idea: turning daily health monitoring into something more interactive. Users can choose between two watch face designs—“Pokémon Sleep: Snorlax & Friends” and “Pokémon Sleep: I Choose You.” The first features beloved characters like Snorlax, Pikachu, and the classic trio of Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle set against the peaceful Greengrass Isle. The second option offers a more personalized experience, allowing users to select a companion from a wide lineup of Pokémon.
What makes these watch faces stand out is how they respond to the user’s activity throughout the day. Powered by Garmin’s Body Battery™ feature, the Pokémon on screen shift their expressions and movements in real time—mirroring energy levels as they rise and fall. From cheerful and energetic animations during active hours to sleepy, relaxed poses as fatigue sets in, the watch face becomes a subtle yet charming reflection of the user’s physical state.
As the day winds down, the experience transitions seamlessly into rest mode. About 90 minutes before a user’s scheduled bedtime—set via the Garmin Connect™ app—the watch face automatically shifts into night mode. This gentle cue encourages users to slow down and prepare for sleep, aligning with the broader wellness focus of the device.
Beyond aesthetics, the update also connects with the wider Pokémon Sleep ecosystem. Compatible devices can now sync sleep data with the Pokémon Sleep app, adding another layer of engagement for users who want to gamify their rest routines.
With this release, Garmin continues to blend technology, health, and entertainment—proving that even something as routine as tracking energy and sleep can feel a little more magical.
