SHERA Strengthens Building Standards with Philippine Quality Certification

SHERA reinforces its commitment to safer, stronger, and more durable construction in the Philippines after earning the Philippine Standard (PS) Certification Mark from the Department of Trade and Industry–Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS) for its fiber cement flat sheet products.

As Filipino homeowners, property developers, and construction professionals place greater importance on building safety and long-term durability, the certification represents a significant achievement for SHERA, a leading provider of home and building materials.

The certification covers the company’s flagship fiber cement flat sheets used for ceilings, walls, and flooring applications. These products are distributed nationwide and serve various residential, commercial, and construction requirements.

The PS Certification Mark is awarded to manufacturers whose products and quality management systems successfully undergo factory inspections and product testing based on applicable Philippine National Standards (PNS). It serves as an independent assurance that certified materials comply with established standards for quality, performance, and safety.

For SHERA, obtaining the certification demonstrates a proactive approach to product quality, having pursued the recognition ahead of mandatory requirements for covered products.

“While fiber cement products must meet rigorous performance standards, proactively securing the official PS Mark from the DTI Bureau of Philippine Standards (DTI-BPS) provides clear, independent verification that SHERA products consistently meet or exceed Philippine national standards (PNS),” said Thunnop Jumpasri, SHERA President for the Philippine–Thailand Cluster.

He emphasized that the achievement reflects the company’s dedication to transparency and strengthening relationships with Filipino homeowners, contractors, architects, and property developers.

Beyond regulatory compliance, the certification provides practical advantages to the construction industry. Certified building materials give developers and contractors greater confidence when selecting products for projects that demand durability, moisture resistance, structural performance, and fire safety.

For distributors and trade partners, the PS Mark also supports compliance with project specifications and promotes consistent access to quality-assured construction materials.

With this achievement, SHERA is preparing for further expansion across the Philippine market. The company plans to enhance its supply chain, improve logistics capabilities, and broaden its distribution network throughout Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Innovation will remain central to its growth strategy. SHERA intends to introduce improved decorative finishes, environmentally responsible building solutions, and faster-installation systems suited to evolving Filipino architectural preferences.

These developments are expected to address the growing demand for practical construction solutions in affordable housing, residential communities, and commercial developments.

The company also aims to strengthen collaboration with architects, developers, contractors, and industry organizations to encourage sustainable construction practices and more resilient buildings nationwide.

As the Philippine construction sector continues to evolve, SHERA’s latest certification highlights the importance of combining product innovation with independently verified quality standards.

“It validates our manufacturing excellence and reinforces our brand promise of Build Better, Live Better,” Jumpasri concluded.

For SHERA, the milestone represents more than industry recognition. It strengthens the company’s commitment to providing dependable building materials that help Filipino families and businesses create safer, more durable spaces for generations to come.
