Many plant lovers have tried to grow roses from cuttings. There are many rose propagation methods such as rooting in soil or water, air layering, and some even try to grow rose cuttings in potatoes! Some of these methods are great, some actually don’t work very well.
However, there are endless varieties of roses you CAN propagate. For example, the famous “New Dawn” and “Charlotte Armstrong” roses were patented over 50 years ago, and old-fashioned heirloom roses often root easier than modern hybrids.
But with this idea we’ve got for you can grow your own beautiful bunch of roses!

This is how you do it
Cut the stem of Rose, remove all of the leaves including the top of the rose (approximately 3 centimeters).
A rose and a potato? Yes, you read that right! This idea is going to sound really strange, but it does work.
Take the potato and drill in a hole the width of the stalk; make sure the stalk doesn’t wobble within the hole. Cover the bottom of the pot with 5 centimeters of potting soil, and place the potato on top and fill the rest of the pot with potting soil.
Get the desired size of plastic bottle, cut off the bottom about 2 centimeters and carefully place it over the stalk sticking out of the soil.
Occasionally water the rose around the bottle and watch how your roses grow like never before!
