Inside Batangas’ most dynamic industrial hub, a quiet but transformative upgrade is taking shape—one that could redefine how manufacturers operate, collaborate, and grow. Globe Telecom and First Philippine Industrial Park (FPIP), Inc. have joined forces to bring fiber-fast, enterprise-grade internet connectivity to one of the country’s most important manufacturing ecosystems in Sto. Tomas, Batangas.
Sealed through a newly signed memorandum of agreement, the partnership is designed to strengthen the digital backbone of FPIP, enabling more than 150 local and global locators—and over 80,000 employees—to operate with greater speed, security, and reliability. As manufacturing becomes increasingly data-driven, real-time connectivity is no longer optional. It is essential to staying competitive in a global marketplace.
Through the collaboration, Globe will roll out high-speed fiber services tailored to the complex needs of industrial enterprises—from consumer electronics and automotive manufacturing to aerospace and medical devices. These capabilities support seamless coordination across production lines, faster data exchange, and smarter decision-making powered by digital tools.
“At the heart of this partnership is our shared vision to help businesses thrive in a digital-first world,” said Michelle Y. Ora, Globe’s Vice President for Strategic Partnerships and Program. “By delivering secure, reliable, and high-performance connectivity, we are enabling FPIP locators to innovate faster and operate more efficiently—locally and globally.”
A key enabler of the rollout is FPIP’s shared dark fiber facility, launched in 2023. This infrastructure allows Globe to deploy services more quickly and efficiently, while giving locators greater flexibility and choice in meeting their connectivity requirements.
FPIP Assistant Vice President for Park and Utilities Group Jason de las Alas emphasized the importance of robust digital infrastructure in modern industrial parks. “Our locators have diverse and growing digital needs. By partnering with Globe, we ensure they have access to high-quality, secure internet services that support their operations in today’s fast-paced environment.”
Established in 1996, FPIP is a PEZA-registered special economic zone developed by First Philippine Holdings and Japan’s Sumitomo Corporation. Spanning nearly 600 hectares, it remains a cornerstone of Philippine industrial growth.
The contract signing formally marks a collaboration that positions FPIP for its next phase of expansion—one powered by seamless connectivity, global competitiveness, and future-ready digital infrastructure.
