PJ Lhuillier Group of Companies Wins People Insight Award for Best Employee Engagement Program

PJ Lhuillier Group of Companies, the proud parent company of Cebuana Lhuillier was recently honored with the “Best Employee Engagement Program” award at the inaugural People Insight Awards 2023 presented by TalentView.

The People Insight Awards celebrates and honors the exceptional achievements of companies across different industries that have exemplified extraordinary organizational transformation, leadership, and innovation. More than 30 organizations submitted entries to join the People Insight Awards 2023.

PJ Lhuillier’s entry underscored its commitment to providing a great workplace environment and highlighted the importance of embracing technological innovation as a valuable resource that fosters employee engagement, collaboration, and cooperation.

Having an entry to the People Insight Awards’ “Best Employee Engagement Program” category recounts how PJ Lhuillier successfully dealt with its internal communication problems and employee engagement challenges.

Cebuana Lhuillier President and CEO Jean Henri Lhuillier is honored to receive the People Insight Award in the “Best Employee Engagement Program” category: “We are tremendously proud of this achievement. We are beyond excited to continue innovating and look forward to creating and fostering more programs that improve our operations and strengthen the reputation of the Cebuana Lhuillier brand- all for the benefit of our stakeholders”.

With a workforce of over 10,000 employees spread across nearly 3,500 branches nationwide, this expansive footprint throughout the Philippines has revealed the challenges posed by geographical dispersion to PJ Lhuillier. Conventional communication avenues such as texts, calls, and emails have often fallen short in fostering a sense of harmony among employees. The increase in social media platforms has further fragmented communication efforts, necessitating the adoption of a more cohesive platform capable of connecting employees in real-time, regardless of their locations. The pandemic has also shifted engagement from face-to-face to virtual interactions.

This is precisely where the implementation of Workplace by Meta, referred internally as Workplace Ninong Ceb Group, emerged as a solution. With PJ Lhuillier’s entry through the Workplace platform, employees transcended limitations, actively participated in discussions, stayed updated, and contributed to organization-wide initiatives. The adoption of Workplace marked just the beginning of PJ Lhuillier’s revitalized employee engagement strategy.

Cebuana Lhuillier’s First Vice-President and Group Head of Corporate Services Jo-Ann Yuson Tacorda says, “This award truly means a lot to us as it proves how our efforts in strengthening the organization continuously pay off. While having thousands of employees may be challenging, we are grateful for how we can rely on technology to foster better engagement among all our employees nationwide.”

To nurture a culture of active involvement, the company also introduced a diverse array of engagement activities within the platform. The infusion of these engagement initiatives within the workplace led to a profound transformation of how PJ Lhuillier’s employees interacted, resulting in deeper connections with both the organization and their colleagues and culminating in a more cohesive and collaborative workforce. As technology continues to reshape the modern workplace, PJ Lhuillier’s experience stands out as an example of leveraging innovation to strengthen employee relationships and propel organizational feats.
