PHINMAEducation Reports 84% Overall Board Passing Rate, 31 Topnotchers

Nursing, Optometry, and Criminology among top courses

As it celebrates twenty years of making lives better through education, PHINMA Education reported an overall board exam passing rate of 84% with 31 board exam topnotchers across various fields in S.Y. 2023-2024.

“We currently have around 150,000 students and many of them are the first in their families to go to college. We meet them where they are– financially, academically, and as college students– so they can complete their degree program and get on track with the career path of their choice,” said Francis Larios, PHINMA Education’s Chief of Learning.

Graduates performed well in a number of fields from June 2023 to May 2024. In Nursing, PHINMA University of Pangasinan (UPang) and PHINMA Cagayan de Oro College (COC) were hailed the top third and tenth performing schools, respectively. In addition, the network also fielded 13 topnotchers in the March 2024 exams.

Southwestern University (SWU) PHINMA was the top performing school in the October 2023 licensure exam with 32 newly licensed optometrists and five topnotchers. PHINMA COC and PHINMA University of Iloilo (UI) took the second and sixth spots for the top performing schools in Criminology respectively, with three topnotchers.

This year’s graduates also excelled in a number of other fields including Pharmacy, Radiologic Technology, Elementary Education, Secondary Education, Accountancy, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy. Since 2004, PHINMA Education has produced 174 topnotchers across its nine schools in the Philippines.

In 2019, it began managing Horizon Education in Indonesia with its first campus in Karawang, West Java. This year, Indonesian graduates received a 100% board passing rate in Nursing (D3 Keperawatan) and Midwifery (D3 Kebidanan) and an 88%board passing rate in Professional Nursing (Profesi Ners). International graduates of SWU PHINMA received a 100% board passing rate in the Nigerian Medical Board Exam. It also produced seven new doctors in the Nepalese Medical Council Licensure Examination.

“Most of our students come from humble backgrounds and limited resources but our board passing rates continue to improve across the network. This reaffirms that with supportive learning programs, we can make lives better for thousands of underserved youth,” Larios added.

PHINMA Education continues to remain accessible to those who need it most via programs like the Hawak Kamay (HK) Scholarship. In 2024, it introduced HK5.5, allowing qualified students to pay only P5,500 per semester (exclusive of books and uniforms) for both Education and Business programs offered across eight schools. Additionally, HK5.5 is available for the Criminology program at PHINMA UPang. Students may apply through this link: https://bit.ly/phinmaedhk55scholarship.

Throughout S.Y. 2023-2024, PHINMA Education served almost 150,000 students across ten schools in the Philippines and Indonesia. PHINMA Education Holdings, Inc. (PEHI), now the largest private school network in Southeast Asia, is the education services subsidiary of PHINMA Corporation, a Filipino-owned conglomerate with investments in education, property development, hospitality, and construction materials.
