As cities around the world search for more sustainable ways to move people, Iloilo continues to stand out as one of the Philippines’ strongest advocates for active mobility. This commitment takes center stage once again as Iloilo Business Park hosts the 12th Iloilo Bike Festival, a month-long celebration that promotes cycling, healthy lifestyles, and environmentally responsible urban living.
Carrying the theme “Ride the Vibe,” this year’s festival invites residents and visitors to experience the city from a different perspective—one powered by people, community, and movement. More than a sporting event, the festival has evolved into a platform that highlights how cycling can contribute to healthier communities, cleaner environments, and more connected urban spaces.
The festivities begin with Bike to Work Day on June 5, encouraging employees and professionals to choose bicycles as a practical means of transportation. The activity serves as a reminder that cycling can be both an everyday solution to mobility challenges and a positive lifestyle choice.
Throughout June, Iloilo Business Park transforms into a hub of cycling-related activities designed to engage participants of all ages and skill levels. Cycling enthusiasts can explore the Bike Exhibit at Festive Walk Iloilo, where innovations, products, and developments in the cycling industry are showcased. Food lovers can also enjoy the Bike Food Crawl along the Festive Walk Parade, combining two favorite activities—cycling and discovering local dining destinations.
For those seeking competition, the Mega Criterium Race on June 13 and 14 offers an exciting display of speed, strategy, and endurance. Held along Java Road, the race attracts experienced cyclists eager to test their skills on a challenging urban course.
The festival also places strong emphasis on family participation and community involvement. On June 20, young riders take the spotlight during the Push Bike Race, a fun-filled event that introduces children to the joys of cycling while encouraging active lifestyles at an early age.
Another major highlight comes on June 21 with the Iloilo Duathlon 2.0, which combines running and cycling in a test of endurance and determination. Later in the day, Park Square shifts from competition to entertainment as local talents perform during the Battle of the Bands. The celebration reaches its peak with the Grand Fun Ride, bringing together thousands of cyclists in a shared journey through the city’s streets.
Adding another sustainability-focused dimension to the festival, the Electric Car and Solar Show from June 24 to 27 showcases emerging clean-energy technologies and alternative transportation solutions.
For Iloilo Business Park, the festival reflects more than a series of events. As a 72-hectare master-planned township designed with pedestrian pathways, cycling lanes, and interconnected spaces, it demonstrates how urban development can support healthier and more sustainable lifestyles.
Through the continued collaboration of government agencies, private organizations, and local communities, the Iloilo Bike Festival highlights a vision of a city where mobility, environmental responsibility, and quality of life move forward together—one ride at a time.
